Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Set to be Thinnest Foldable Phone in the World
According to a new leak by tipster Anthony, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure 8.22mm when folded. This will make the Z fold 7 thinnest foldable phone in the world, a record currently held by the Oppo Find N5.
The Oppo Find N5 is 8.9mm thin, and Samsung will undercut the Chinese giant by 0.7mm. While they might not sound like a lot, it’s impressive nonetheless that the South Korean giant is back to its innovative days.

Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it will be a massive 30% reduction since it is a whopping 12.1mm thick. Even in comparison to the original Z Fold, which measured 17.1mm, there is a significant reduction in the thickness.
What’s the advantage? Well, it should make it much ergonomic and easier to put it inside your pockets. Since the dimensions will be similar to a normal slab phone, it shouldn’t take much space in your pants.
It will be interesting to see how the Z Fold 7 compares to the Z Fold Special Edition. Exclusive to South Korea, the phone was thinner than even the Z Fold 6 at 10.6mm.

If the leak turns out to be true, then it will be interesting to see how the Z Fold 7 holds up in durability tests. Given that the Z Fold 6 caught fire in JerryRigEverything’s durability test, it would be interesting to see how its successor holds up.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025. It will debut alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Z Flip 7 FE (or XE, depending on what Samsung likes to call it).
It will offer improvements in other segments as well as with a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.2-inch inner one. Furthermore, the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with 12GB of RAM.
Moreover, it will feature a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. You can also expect a 12-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens, a 4-megapixel under-display selfie sensor, and a 10-megapixel selfie on the cover screen.
The South Korean giant is also expected to reveal the Project Moohan headset based on Android XR. We could also see the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
